CAPE TOWN ART TOURS

All tours are content-driven - the itinerary is guided by the substance of the exhibitions  and which artists are able to open up their studios to the public. Mary Corrigall, your guide is a contemporary art expert and will begin each tour outlining how the historical, aesthetic or thematic context to the artworks featured on the tour.  Expect to find out more about South African and African art!

Half-day tours would be confined to one area, whereas full day tours could include several.

MUSEUM TOURS

The focus of these tours are on museum exhibitions offered at either Iziko SA Museum, Zeitz Museum of Contemporary African Art (pictured), the Norval Foundation or the A4 Arts Foundation. The tour would be content-driven - the schedule would depend on what exhibitions are on offer. Meeting artists and curators may be possible at some of the destinations. 

Only 2 museums could be accommodated for a half-day tour (excluding Norval which is a 20 minute drive from Cape Town's CBD).

CITY GALLERY TOURS

Cape Town's city centre boasts a number of interesting contemporary galleries - Church, Nel, Eclectica, AVA, Worldart, 99 Loop,  Whatiftheworld. Some are within walking distance of each other.

Some of South Africa's leading contemporary galleries and artist studios  are located in this once-industrial area. A curated selection of galleries - Stevenson, Goodman, Blank Projects, Smac, and studios (if possible) will feature on this tour.
